Provincial and territorial ministers accountable for schooling are assembly July 5 and 6 in Regina for the one hundred and tenth assembly of the Council of Ministers of Training, Canada (CMEC).
Ministers will concentrate on strategic priorities to advance high quality schooling over the following 4 years. They will even take part within the CMEC Symposium on Indigenizing Training held on the First Nations College of Canada.
“I’m thrilled to welcome my colleagues and Indigenous representatives from throughout the nation to Saskatchewan to share insights and to showcase the distinctive work occurring in our province,” CMEC Chair and Superior Training Minister Gordon Wyant mentioned. “The Symposium on Indigenizing Training will even be an amazing alternative to be taught from Indigenous representatives and construct upon CMEC’s Indigenous Training Plan to help the schooling of Indigenous kids and youth.”
The Symposium will give educators and directors a chance to be taught from leaders of Indigenous post-secondary establishments, with a concentrate on decolonizing schooling. Individuals will be taught holistic approaches to schooling and Indigenous scholar expertise from a panel of consultants, Elders, students and Indigenous college students.
A media availability will likely be organized for early afternoon on July 6 on the conclusion of the Symposium.
